Dry Shampoo Recall FAQs

Why are you recalling these products?

Out an abundance of caution, we are voluntarily recalling select lot codes of dry shampoo products due to the potential presence of elevated levels of benzene in the propellant, which sprays product from the can. The products covered by this recall were produced prior to October 2021.

What is Benzene?

Benzene is a substance formed from both natural processes and man-made activities. Humans around the world have daily exposure to it indoors and outdoors from multiple sources. It is labeled as a human carcinogen. It is not an ingredient we use in our products, although trace levels can sometimes occur due to its natural presence in certain raw materials. An independent health hazard evaluation concluded that the levels of benzene detected in our dry shampoo products do not pose a consumer health risk, however we are conducting this recall out of an abundance of caution. Our top priority is developing products that are safe for you, your families, and the environment.
